It's Official!

Our dossier was submitted today, so we are officially in line to be issued an appointment to travel to Eastern Europe!!!  It is so exciting to have reached this point! After our L-O-N-G wait to receive Immigration approval, the past week has been a whirlwind!

We probably won't have any other details about our travel plans for at least two weeks.  In 2-3 weeks, our facilitator should be able to pick up a letter from the SDA (the government agency that handles adoptions in our country) giving us an appointment date.  Judging by other families currently in process, our appointment date will be 2-3 weeks from the date our facilitator receives that letter.  (A few families who just received their dates will be traveling in two weeks!) At this point, it looks like the June closure is not going to happen; however, it is still a possibility.

We walked to DQ for Blizzards tonight. Yum!  On our way home, we stopped at a picnic table to eat and enjoy the beautiful evening. (Yes, the monsoons have finally moved on.)  As we were sitting there, it suddenly hit me that we could be a family of five before the end of the summer.  Actually, we could be meeting our new children in 4-6 weeks - WOW!

Alright...I need to go clean out a closet or organize a dresser drawer or something! :)  Have a great day!

  1. Oh, wow. That happened fast! How on earth did they translate it so quickly? Ours took 4 weeks from the day we sent it until the day it was submitted (RU) due to translating/notarizing.

  2. I love those moments of realization! I thought today of how things can be so different in such a short time. I am happy you are moving forward, and I can't wait to meet who God has planned for you guys!

  3. Bethany - Nina already had our dossier translated. I was able to send most of our documents last month, and she used scanned copies of everything else for translation. She gave our dossier to the notary after it arrived on Tuesday and got it back in time to submit it Thursday. I'm not sure how she pulled it off; she's pretty amazing!

  4. Canda - Thanks for your encouragement. We can't wait to bring our new kiddos on our walks to the Farmers Market. :)
